In California!

Wed Jul 9, 2008, 3:59 PM
Hello all!

I just felt compelled to make a DA journal entry, just to let everyone know that I am aliiive and doing quite well. :D

So in the past two weeks I've flown to Cali, went all the way to Las Vegas [to get =Sepha's stoof from his house], survived a U-Haul trip all the way back to Cali, completed the lease for the apartment, gotten the lights deposit taken care of, AND secured a full-time job at Fry's Electronics! Matt and I are both pretty whiped out, and our apartment is a flood of unpacked boxes still because we've been SO busy, but things have never been better and we're having a lot of fun. We're also getting internet turned on next week, so I might come around DA to check things everyonce in awhile.

I wasn't able to get commissions that I owed out before I made my move to Cali, but as soon as we get the internet turn on, I'll be hopping to it! I'd get started now, but since Matt and I come over to Chapman University to steal their computers to use the internets, we're never over here too long. Rawr. But everything shall work out soon!

And now, Matt and I are off for Italian food! 8D

Apartment!

Journal Entry: Thu Jun 5, 2008, 4:45 PM
I figured I'd push my previous journal off with some great news! But news that could mean a slight absence from me for a few weeks, but not until I move.

My boyfriend, Matt (=Sepha), and I got an apartment! Well, not entirely yet, but our applications have been approved and we're being given a list of details on a few available ones. :3 I'm so excited, and cannot wait to be living with my kittybutt. <3 We've been working for months, non-stop to make this dream become reality, and we're finally there. I couldn't have done it without him, or without how many commissions that I have gotten from people to help my funds! Thank you everyone. <3

But! I'm not sure how internet access is gonna go. Even if we do have it, I will not have a scanner for awhile! Not sure if I'll be able to get to one, either, but we'll see. I don't really enjoy sketching digitally, even though most of my completed work is done in the media, so things might be kind of slow~

So in 20 more days, I'll be in California! I want to get everything I owe people done before then, so off I go. :3

False Claims.

Journal Entry: Wed Jun 4, 2008, 3:21 AM
As of late, I have been receiving news that my ex, ~Krenshaw, has been spreading rumors that he has partaken in commissions I have done for other people, such as Furcadia portraits. He's also claimed that he has 'taught' me how to make these portraits, and from the sound of what my reliable friends and sources (there will be no names of these people stated) have told me, believes that he deserves some sort of credit for this.

I am making this journal entry so there is no confusion over the truth, which has been needing to get out into the public eye for awhile now - He has never touched a single piece of my art, other than the most recent image on his DA, which he altered (without my permission) to have the purple background and text writing. There is no way I would allow anyone, significant other or not, to touch artwork that was being commissioned by another person. Otherwise, why would they even be paying for it? It wouldn't be my art, thus, would be a ripoff. I take my art very seriously and professionally at all costs, and would not allow such a thing to happen.

Now, when it comes to him 'teaching' me how to do portraits, this is a hilariously laughable statement for him to make. I have been drawing Furcadia portraits since August 2004, a year before I met Krenshaw. The only 'teaching' he has ever aided me in is a single, simple thing that I did not understand at the time - remappable colors. He basically told me what color matched to what, such as orange goes to the cape, green goes to the vest, pink to hair, and so on. Basically 20 minutes into this 'lesson', I found out that the FSH editor tells you all this stuff, so I never would have needed his help in the first place if I had just used my eyes and noticed the drop down menu, lol. The claims he's made, such as teaching me how to do anatomy...? Is completely ridiculous. My art has improved, as every artist's work does, over the years. My grasps on anatomy and shading have also improved. So, his one quote that he said me when I confronted him about this entire situation - "Your anatomy was shit in portraits before I even bothered to help you." - is a quite an absurd statement to make. My portraits are mine, my own, and always will be. Same with all my art, and he has no right to be making any of the rumors he's been spreading. Commissioned art can be used however the buyer sees fit (provided it is not reselling), but the art that has been drawn has been created by myself.

And just to clear up some more confusion - Yes, he and I were married. We have been separated now since September 12th, 2007, and I wouldn't have it any other way. His statements of, "I'm married to Liz Stanford/Moondelle." Are false. While they might have some truth, seeing as we have not been legally divorced yet, I do not want people thinking he and I are in any sort of functional relationship. The only relationship I am in is with my dearly beloved boyfriend, Matt, or =Sepha as known on DA. I do not consider Krenshaw and I being married, nor do I claim him in a relationship. He is merely a vindictive ex with too much time on his hands.

I do not want this journal entry to cause a riot on my DA page or journal, so if there are any rude remarks, they will be simply hidden. This is just a warning that if anyone sees him making the claims I have listed above, they are all false.

As for commission work, they're still all being worked on! Sorry this is taking me awhile guys, but I really killed my art motor for awhile there. D: I'm working on one more piece for myself, and then my nose goes right back to the grind stone! Thank you all for being so patient.

Coming to a close.

Tue May 20, 2008, 7:50 PM
Hey all!

I wanted to let everyone know that my commissions are coming to a close, starting immediately. For a few, very long months now, my only source of income has been commission based. The stress of not being able to draw much for myself and friends, or feeling incredibly guilty when I do so, is just becoming too much. It's very hard to see something that once gave me a freedom and creative outlit in my life turn into so much of a chore. While I enjoy working for people, and I am glad so many people like my art enough to pay me to do a custom piece for them, I need a break!

All those who have paid will be receiving their commissions shortly. Those who have not paid will be backlogged for a waiting list, and I will work on them at my own leisure. There's no promise on amazingly fast production for those who have no paid. If you'd like to be removed from this waiting list because the wait might be too long, just note me!

Lists of commissions that have been paid for:
Poses:
~kitaki - Sketching.
~squeaker-box - Sketching.

Pose Sets:
=TikkyKitty - Sketching.

Furcadia Port:
=jpak - Sketching.

Other than these remaining commissions, and those I chose to pick throughout the next few months, I won't really be posting art anywhere. Maybe I'll change my mind in the future, but I'd like to work on more things for myself and keep them private. There's been a lot of stressful events in my life, and with even more coming, I needed to cut back for my own well-being.

I hope you all understand.
